Guided route
Start here
The site has many entry points. This page gives the recommended order: first the principle, then a readable demonstration, then results, epistemic status, and limits.
Understand the idea
Persistence is what passes through a constraint without losing structural identity.
2State the principle
GFT fixes the budget: total distinction = persistence + entropy.
3See one proof route
The periodic table gives a robust, visual, chemical first demonstration.
4Compare with measurements
Numerical results are grouped by domain, status, and validation level.
5Inspect the limits
A credible theory must state what is proved, derived, validated, or still open.
The through-line
PT does not begin with a constant to tune. It begins with a conservation constraint: a system has a total budget of distinctions. That budget may appear as persistent structure or as entropic dispersion, but the balance is exact.
The scientific question then becomes: does this conservation force recognizable structures in the world? The first robust showcase is chemical: periods, channels, shells, then IE and EA.
